New Core Strengthening Yoga Course

The new Core Strengthening Yoga Course will start on April 13th, Monday, from 6:15 to 7:15 pm at the Rua Red in Tallaght. 

Thank you to all the participants who have joined the classes during the last few months, it has been a very exiting experience! Looking forward in seeing you again in April:)

Healing with Foods Classes

The second appointment for this series took place on Feb 4th, Wednesday. We talked about how to fight depression, anxiety and cravings by using a proper diet. In particular, we focused on:

• Essential fats –do you need more Omega 3?
   (Best sources: fish, nuts, seeds, beans; good sources also are spinach, mango, papaya, lettuce, bananas, blueberries)

• Homocysteine level – is it too high? Does it need to be corrected with B6, B12 and Folic Acid?

  (Best sources B6: fresh fruit, green leafy vegetables, whole grains, cereals, fish, poultry
  B12: deep sea fish, sardines, lamb, beef, yoghurt, eggs, turkey, chicken, cheese, mushrooms
  Folic Acid: dark leafy vegetables, asparagus, broccoli, citrus fruits, strawberries, beans, lentils, avocado, Brussels sprouts, seeds, nuts,    
  cauliflower, beetroot, corn, celery, carrot, squash).

• Serotonin levels – do they need boosting with amino acids?

• Blood sugar balance – is yours within the healthy range?
 (Normal blood glucose level is about 72 mg/dL OR, after a meal may rise temporarily up to 140 mg/dL)

• Chromium – are you getting enough? (20~25 mcg for women, 30~35 mcg for men)
 (Best sources: brown rice, apples, bananas, chicken, milk, eggs, broccoli, barley, oats, breen beans, tomatoes, Romaine lettuce, black pepper)

• Vitamin D – the sunshine vitamin (no more than 25 mcg per day is safe)
 (Best sources: cod liver oil, oily fish, shiitake, tofu, caviar, pork, eggs)

• Food intolerances – could food be making you sad?

Healing with Foods Classes 2015

The first class for the Healing with Foods Course will take place at the Rua Red on January 21st from 6 to 7:30 pm.

This is an introductory class, yet we will be talking in deep details on how certain foods affect our health and why, in order to understand better how to take the best care of our own health through daily diet.

As a strong immune system is what we really need in order to keep illnesses away, between January and February we will  talk in detail on how to boost it at its best.

Yoga Classes 2015

Jiko-gyoushi Class 2015

Happy New Year to you all, hope you had a lovely Christmas and a nice break:)

The first Jiko-gyoushi class for 2015 is going to be held at the Rua Red in Tallaght at 6:15 pm on January 20th, Tuesday.

We will be meeting in the Cafe area, booking is not required but please let me know if you are planning to attend

Healing with Foods Talks in Tallaght

Talks focus on different ailments and on the foods we need to avoid/include in our daily diets in order to heal and prevent falling into the same patterns that generat illness.

During each class we will talk about the reasons why certain foods are good or not good to our health, discover about some important and fundamental mechanisms of the body, and learn how to choose our food so that what we eat every day can become our "best medicine", even if still very enjoyable and delicious.

Therapeutic recipes will be handed out after the classes.

The new talks season will start in January 2015 and will take place at the Rua Red in Tallaght, beside the Luas Station.

Admission:

1 class:   € 15

New Core Strengthening Yoga Course

The second core strengthening yoga course will start next Monday, November 17th, and will last for 6 more weeks. During this second course we will work a little more deeply on the "core muscles" and also on flexibility, enhancing even further blood circulation, metabolism and immune system.

Healing with Foods at OBUS

The Healing With Foods class at Obus Wellness Centre in Leixlip on October 22nd was very enjoyable, thank you to all the participants, the energy in the classroom was lovely!

The introductory part of the course is now finished and from next time we will get more deeply into specific aliments. Next class is scheduled for November 5th, Wednesday, from 7.15 to 8.45 pm and will focus on arthritis.
